I'm currently working at KIAD picking up turbine and business jet experience, and I take on outside contracts when the schedule allows. I don't have my IA yet, so anything that requires inspector authorization needs an IA on site to sign off — but there's still a lot I can knock out independently.
Hi, I'm Katey — and I really do love this work.
I'm an FAA Certified A&P mechanic. I graduated in August 2024 and currently work at KIAD gaining turbine and business jet experience, while building Katey-Did Aviation LLC on the side so I can keep doing what I love on a schedule that works for me.
Most of my hands-on experience is in general aviation on a PA-31 — sheet metal work, fabricating doublers, replacing windows, fixing engine leaks, interior, and a bit of basic electronics.
I'm open to a little travel — it just depends on what's on the board, since my schedule's somewhat limited while I'm gaining experience at KIAD.
